FantasyPros will be taking a look at early NFL Draft scouting reports before the Combine in February. Here’s a look at Oregon offensive lineman Emmanuel Pregnon.
2026 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Emanuel Pregnon
Emmanuel Pregnon (OL – Oregon)
6-foot-5 | 318 Pounds
Background
Emmanuel Pregnon originally attended Wyoming, where he opted out in the shortened 2020 pandemic season before redshirting the following year.
Started 2022 at right guard, allowing two sacks and seven combined sacks + hits + pressures before transferring to the USC Trojans, where he started at left guard in 2023 (zero sacks and q4 combined sacks + hits + pressures) and 2024 (zero sacks and 18 combined sacks + hits + pressures).
Transferred to Oregon this past season and started at left guard once again (one start at right guard), finishing with zero sacks and three combined sacks + hits + pressures through the regular season.
Positives
Pregnon has four years of starting experience between both guard spots. He’s a well-built guard who carries his weight well, with a trim frame. Despite being relatively tall for a guard, Pregnon comes out of his stance with a solid pad level. Smooth, coordinated athlete who can get out in space as a puller or in the screen game, making him relatively assignment-versatile on early downs.
Pregnon has the short-area quickness to pull to the right side of the formation and secure hook blocks on opponents when executing gap concepts. Can climb up to the second level. Lower-body strength looks good to hold the point of attack and wall off defenders in the run game.
Capable of generating push when he gets his feet churning after contact. Can attack the outside shoulder to seal defenders out of rushing lanes. Pass sets look very sound, with a straight back, a sufficiently-wide base and good knee-bend; maintains his form even when he has to cover a lot of ground.
The Oregon prospect shows good lateral quickness to mirror and can anticipate and cut off inside moves. Active with his punch and hands. Drops an early anchor against opposing bull-rushers. Has significantly cut down on penalties in the past two years.
Negatives
Pregnon spent six years in school between three different programs, so he’s a bit over-aged. Doesn’t play the game with ideal aggression and physicality; looks a bit too willing to observe what’s going on than get involved, and could use more glass in his diet.
Feet can sometimes go dead on contact, preventing Pregnon from generating as much movement as he’s capable of. Finishing isn’t the most consistent. Would like to see more of a sense of urgency to seek out work when he’s left unopposed in pass protection.
Summary
One of the most physically and athletically impressive guards in the class, with a trim physique, smooth movement skills in space and the lateral quickness and lower-body strength to mirror and anchor in pass protection.
While Pregnon has all of the tools to develop into a solid starter, especially on a line that favors mobility more than phone-booth mauling, my biggest concern is with his finesse temperament.
The Oregon lineman is a relatively consistent player on a snap-to-snap basis, but not as dominant as he should be, owing to a lack of ideal nastiness. Consequently, could end up as a somewhat polarizing prospect who may not fit every team’s desired type.
