2026 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Isaiah World

Background
Isaiah World originally attended Nevada, where he redshirted in 2021 before taking over a starting role from the second week of the 2022 season, the first game coming at left tackle before flipping over to the right side.
World struggled through the season, allowing 11 sacks and 38 combined sacks + hits + hurries. Flipped to left tackle in 2023. He allowed two sacks and 34 sacks + hits + hurries in 2023 and one sack and 15 sacks + hits + hurries in 2024 before transferring to Oregon. Also played left tackle this season, allowing one sack and 10 sacks + his + hurries through the regular season.
Positives
Very tall, well-built four-year starter who has experience at both left and right tackle; overall trajectory has also shown improvement relative to his first two seasons starting. World’s Athleticism stands out early, with smooth movement skills and impressive flexibility. Comes from a balanced offense and has the range to execute a variety of blocking assignments. Can cross a defender’s face and hook them.
World can climb up to the second level and disrupt linebackers. Shows the ability to use defenders’ momentum against them to wall them off from the play direction. Works through the whistle. Has the type of tools teams look for in a blindside pass protector.
Length, quick feet and above-average lateral quickness allow World to protect the edge effectively on passing downs while maintaining his form. Flashes the ability to anticipate and cut off inside rushers quickly. Active with his hands and gets good extension to keep defenders out of his frame; good hand-fighter who places and resets his hands accurately. World has solid lower-body strength and generally drops a pretty early anchor when handling power on the edge.
Negatives
World’s snap-to-snap consistency is an issue. Had a relatively high number of sloppy reps. Positioning and anticipation aren’t as good as they should be for someone who’s been in school for five years. As a tall tackle, pad level and balance can be issues.
The Oregon tackle has some tendencies to lower his head into contact, bend at the waist or fall off blocks; lapses into being a bit of a leaner at times. Doesn’t have the strongest grip to sustain. Not a dominant mauler in the run game; more workmanlike than nasty. Has cut down on penalties each year, but they have been a major issue, having been flagged 37 times over his collegiate career.
Summary
One of the more impressive physical and athletic specimens in this year’s tackle class, Worldoffers an intriguing combination of size, length, flexibility and athleticism, giving him starter-level upside at the next level.
However, for someone who’s been in school for five years, there are more sloppy reps than you’d expect, with awareness/balance issues and a high number of penalties to his name. As a result, World has the look of a boom-or-bust prospect whose raw talent should get him Day 2 looks for a (likely zone-blocking) team confident in their ability to develop linemen.
