Devy Mock Draft (2026 Fantasy Football)

With the 2025 college football season officially in the books, startup season is here for dynasty and devy fantasy football managers alike. For those unfamiliar with the format, devy (developmental) leagues allow you to roster college prospects before they reach the NFL. These players are acquired during your initial startup draft or through annual supplemental drafts.

Even if you are solely a dynasty player, understanding the college landscape is essential in staying one step ahead of your league mates. Today, I’m breaking down a three-round devy mock draft featuring prospects eligible for the 2027-2029 NFL Drafts. We will exclude 2026 rookie prospects to focus solely on the college ranks. This exercise will highlight the talent currently in the pipeline, identify positional strengths and help you accurately value your future rookie picks.

Devy Mock Draft

* This mock draft is based on a Superflex, TE-Premium scoring format.

First Round

1.01: Jeremiah Smith (WR – Ohio State) | 2027

I firmly believe Jeremiah Smith could go down as the greatest wide receiver prospect of all time. If you are tanking for the 2027 1.01 rookie pick, do everything you possibly can to secure it.

1.02: Cam Coleman (WR – Texas) | 2027

1.03: Nick Marsh (WR – Indiana) | 2027

1.04: Bo Jackson (RB – Ohio State) | 2028

Bo Jackson was a true freshman phenom, totalling nearly 1,300 scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns in 2025. He’s my devy RB1 overall and my projected 1.01 in 2028 rookie drafts.

1.05: Malachi Toney (WR – Miami) | 2028

Malachi Toney jumps Dakorien Moore in my 2028 wide receiver ranks, breaking the ACC freshman record for receptions in a season with 109 this year.

Toney is a superstar with the ball in his hands; my only concern is that much of his usage was manufactured around the line of scrimmage.

1.06: Dakorien Moore (WR – Oregon) | 2028

1.07: Ryan Williams (WR – Alabama) | 2027

1.08: Arch Manning (QB – Texas) | 2027

1.09: LaNorris Sellers (QB – South Carolina) | 2027

LaNorris Sellers’ nightmare 2025 campaign was largely due to his putrid offensive line, leaving him scrambling for his life on most dropbacks.

Sellers is still a Konami Code quarterback with elite fantasy upside. We just have to hope he gets some added protection in 2026.

1.10: Justice Haynes (RB – Georgia Tech) | 2027

1.11: T.J. Moore (WR – Clemson) | 2027

1.12: Dante Moore (QB – Oregon) | 2027

I don’t understand Dante Moore’s decision to stay at Oregon. He’s passing up on a guaranteed $50 million contract, where he was essentially a lock to be the QB2 overall in a weak class. He has so much to lose if he takes a step back in 2026.

Second Round

2.01: Bryant Wesco (WR – Clemson) | 2027

Bryant Wesco has the talent to be the WR2 in the 2027 NFL Draft class. He suffered a frightening neck injury in 2025, however, so it’s unclear whether he’ll be the same player post-injury.

2.02: Julian Sayin (QB – Ohio State) | 2027

2.03: Ahmad Hardy (RB – Missouri) | 2027

Analytically, Ahmad Hardy may be the best pure rusher in the FBS. His missed tackles forced and yards after contact numbers have been eye-popping. The major red flag here is his complete lack of usage in the receiving game through two seasons.

2.04: Kewan Lacy (RB – Ole Miss) | 2027

2.05: Isaac Brown (RB – Louisville) | 2027

2.06: Chris Henry Jr. (WR – Ohio State) | 2029

We’ve made it to our first incoming freshman in Chris Henry Jr. The 6-foot-5 receiver towers over smaller defensive backs and utilizes his elite athleticism and massive catch radius to haul in any pass in his vicinity.

Henry will be an immediate producer in 2026 and should have a breakout year in 2027 when Jeremiah Smith declares.

2.07: Sam Leavitt (QB – LSU) | 2027

2.08: Josh Hoover (QB – Indiana) | 2027

Don’t be surprised if Josh Hoover emerges as the QB1 overall in the 2027 class. He’s already a better prospect today than Fernando Mendoza was this time last year. I expect Curt Cignetti to elevate Hoover’s game as he competes for the Heisman Trophy in 2026.

2.09: Tristen Keys (WR – Tennessee) | 2029

Tristen Keys may be the most gifted athlete in the 2026 freshman class, with explosive playmaking ability and route nuance beyond his years.

However, I’m giving Chris Henry Jr. the nod, given the knee injury Keys suffered in 2025. I also don’t love the decision to decommit from LSU and sign with Tennessee.

2.10: Mario Craver (WR – Texas A&M) | 2027

2.11: Deuce Knight (QB – Ole Miss) | 2028

2.12: Bryce Underwood (QB – Michigan) | 2028

There’s no reason to sugarcoat it: Bryce Underwood had an extremely underwhelming true freshman season for the Wolverines, relative to expectations.

That said, Underwood is still a physical freak with dual-threat ability and showed flashes as a passer, so I’m still fairly optimistic.

Third Round

3.01: Ezavier Crowell (RB – Alabama) | 2029

Ezavier Crowell comes in as my RB1 of the 2026 freshman class. He has the skillset to be an NFL workhorse and displays some impressive lateral agility for a player his size.

Crowell may be in line for an immediate workload now that Daylan Smothers flipped his commitment to Texas.

3.02: Savion Hiter (RB – Michigan) | 2029

3.03: Ousmane Kromah (RB – Florida State) | 2028

3.04: Jadan Baugh (RB – Florida) | 2027

3.05: Trey’Dez Green (TE – LSU) | 2027

The current tight end landscape in college football is a giant question mark, say for one prospect: Trey’Dez Green. Sam Leavitt is going to love targeting him in the red zone, standing at 6-foot-7 with a freakish wingspan.

Green moves like a wide receiver and is a matchup nightmare for defenses.

3.06: Keisean Henderson (QB – Houston) | 2029

3.07: Vernell Brown III (WR – Florida) | 2028

Vernell Brown had a solid freshman campaign but failed to find the end zone and dealt with some drop issues throughout the year.

Overall, I love what I saw on film of Brown. He’s lightning quick, a dynamic route runner and slippery with the ball in his hands. We’ll see if he can piece it all together in his sophomore season.

3.08: Lotzeir Brooks (WR – Alabama) | 2028

3.09: Keelon Russell (QB – Alabama) | 2028

3.10: John Mateer (QB – Oklahoma) | 2027

John Mateer made a wise choice to forgo the 2026 NFL Draft for one final college season. As a processor, he’s simply not ready for the NFL game yet.

Dual-threat quarterbacks need to be pushed up fantasy football rankings, and Mateer certainly has that rushing upside.

3.11: Daylan Smothers (RB – Texas) | 2027

3.12: Jordon Davison (RB – Oregon) | 2028

It was quite the true freshman season for Jordon Davison, finding the end zone 15 times. He feels like a poor man’s Ezekiel Elliot, boasting the same aggressive, physical rushing style.

Davison is not a big factor in the receiving game, but he’s nearly impossible to stop at the goal line.
