The 2026 Farmers Insurance Open is the next stop on the PGA Tour circuit. Torrey Pines will continue to host this event in La Jolla, California. Golfers will play Torrey Pines North and Torrey Pines South once each before the 36-hole cut line is enforced, returning to the more difficult Torrey Pines South for the final two rounds.
Distance off-the-tee and accuracy tee-to-green are paramount to success at Torrey Pines. Last year’s winner, Harris English, carded 8-under-par in difficult, windy conditions. Poa Annua greens run up fast at 13 feet via Stimpmeter, while the greens on Torrey Pines South average just 5,000 square feet on this infamous par 72 track.
Without Scottie Scheffler in the field this week, Xander Schauffele makes his season debut as another betting favorite at +1300 odds. Brooks Koepka is also back on the PGA Tour, as the five-time major champion attempts to assimilate from LIV. Ludvig Åberg, Patrick Cantlay, Cameron Young, and Hideki Matsuyama are other pre-event favorites inside of +3000 odds.

Jason Day is fresh off a runner-up finish at The American Express. The Aussie veteran will play the Farmers Insurance Open for the 17th time this week, carding a pair of outright wins, along with seven top 10 finishes at Torrey Pines.
Day currently leads the PGA Tour in total strokes gained at 6.531. He’s also first SG: Putting, 15th SG: Approach, and 18th scrambling. Also sits 35th in driving accuracy and 31st for greens in regulation hit.
Ryan Gerard is a young golfer who is quickly turning heads with back-to-back T2 finishes at the Sony Open and The American Express. The 26-year-old North Carolina native ranks eighth in total strokes gained, as well as top-40 in SG: Off-the-Tee, SG: Approach, and SG: Putting.
We’re now paying a premium to acquire Gerard in lineups. However, he did card a T15 finish at the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open, so it’s a warranted investment.

| Sam Stevens |

Taylor Pendrith and Sam Stevens are our next two golfers to prioritize in Tier 2. Pendrith carded a T6 finish at the Sony Open before missing the cut last week in La Quinta. Stevens has been off to a strong start in 2026, stringing together T31-T6 finishes in Hawaii and the Coachella Valley.
Pendrith’s strong off-the-tee game is going to translate well at Torrey Pines. The Canadian has logged consecutive T10 finishes at the Farmers Insurance Open, including a career-best T7 last year.
Stevens logged a solo runner-up finish behind Harris English in 2025. Now, Stevens returns to La Jolla with plenty of momentum and confidence.
Stevens is ranked 32nd in total strokes gained in 2026. This includes 31st SG: Approach and 25th driving distance. Top-20 marks in birdie average, scoring average, and par 4 scoring average. Also top-30 in scrambling, which makes Stevens a strong Tier 2 prospect.

$7,900 |
| Aldrich Potgieter |
$6,500 |
$7,500 |
Our Tier 3 golfers both have the ability to hammer the golf ball off-the-tee. Gary Woodland and Aldrich Potgieter may be many years apart in age but their game is similar.
Woodland is a four-time winner on the PGA Tour. His best finish at Torrey Pines was T9 in 2019. He’s cooled off since 2020, only breaking the top 40 once at the Farmers Insurance Open.
Now, Woodland looks to continue improving, going under 70 in three of four rounds at The American Express. He’s 28th total driving, second in driving distance at 327.1 yards per swing, and top-40 for approach shots from 200+ yards. Putting is the weak point, which can be masked at a course like Torrey Pines.
Potgieter broke through with his first PGA Tour win in 2025. Now, the 21-year-old South African will look to bounce back from a missed cut at The American Express.
In 2025, Potgieter made his debut at the Farmers Insurance Open, carding an impressive T15 finish. He’s ranked 11th SG: Off-the-Tee and leads the PGA Tour in total driving and driving distance. Also ninth in driving accuracy.
Make sure to slot both Woodland and Potgieter as power hitters into DFS lineups this week at the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open.
