2026 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Davison Igbinosun

Davison Igbinosun (CB – Ohio State)

6-foot-2 | 195 Pounds

Background

Davison Igbinosun’s given name is Aimuamwosa. He was a four-star recruit who originally attended Ole Miss, starting 10 out of 13 games as a true freshman and finishing with 37 tackles and five breakups.

Igbinosun then transferred to Ohio State for the 2023 season, ending with 59 tackles and five breakups that season. Posted 45 tackles, nine breakups and two interceptions in 2024, and then 53 tackles, eight breakups and two interceptions in 2025.

Positives

Tall, long-limbed cornerback who was a four-year starter between two major programs, with a favorable trajectory. Typically lines up on the boundary side, playing different techniques, mostly press-man or zone (the latter often from a shuffle technique). Physical cornerback who uses his length well (and consistently) to disrupt releases at the line of scrimmage, pin outside-releasers to the sidelines and stay connected through the route.

Igbinosun has solid overall speed to carry opponents down the sidelines/field. He looks good when defending deep routes. Reaction times are above-average, with some twitch to his game. Long-strider who gets easy depth when playing zone. Does a good job of keeping things in front of him.

Makes pretty clean transitions to driving on a spot. Length allows him to impact a good amount of throws when he’s in-phase. Physicality carries over into his run support, where he shows impressive intensity. Can use his length to play off of blocks in the screen/run games. Has been a pretty reliable tackler throughout his career.

Negatives

A good but not great athlete in terms of his agility and quickness. Doesn’t have elite burst when driving, which allows completions on underneath throws when he’s working in zone. Doesn’t always seem like he has a lot of confidence when processing route combinations, leading him to play things very safe and allow easy completions.

Gets grabby at the stem when working in man coverage. Can get caught up in traffic while working across the middle of the field. Physicality and early contact have led him to be highly penalty-prone in school. Has been flagged 30 times over four seasons, including 16 times in 2024.

Summary

Igbinosun is a cornerback with a rare combination of size, length, physicality and speed — traits that allow him to disrupt and smother opposing receivers in press-man coverage and to play off of blocks and make tackles in run support.

The flipside of his very physical style of play is penalties. Igbinosun was flagged much more often than usual, getting grabby at the stem and making too much contact when targeted. If he can learn to control his physicality and aggression, he could play press-man on the outside at the pro level, but might prove frustrating if not.

It wouldn’t be a shock if Igbinosun snuck into Day 2 of the draft, but this is a deep class for corners, so the Day 3 might be a bit more likely.

Projection: Round 3/Round 4
