123 golfers are set to descend upon TPC Scottsdale for the 39th edition of the WM Phoenix Open on Thursday. Scottie Scheffler is back to lead the field as a +220 betting favorite, following his win at The American Express.
This par 71 course was designed by Tom Wiskopf and Jay Morrish and features overseeded Bermudagrass with 3.5-inch rough. Accuracy on approach is key, with greens running 7,000 square feet on average. Golfers who get hot with their putter can quickly climb the leaderboard, especially with ideal conditions in the forecast, with a 12-foot pace measured via Stimpmeter.
Expect a birdie-fest from golfers who wind up in contention at this event. Previous winning scores range between 19-under-par and 24-under-par, as Thomas Detry torched the field last year with the latter score to win by seven strokes.
Scheffler is seeking his third win at the WM Phoenix Open. A T25 finish last year was a bad performance for the World No. 1, so expect a stronger showing this time around.
My PGA DFS Lineup Advice: Top Golfers (2026 Farmers Insurance Open) had a lackluster showing. Ryan Gerard carded a T11 finish, while Jason Day and Sam Stevens also managed T30 and T38 finishes. Taylor Pendrith, Gary Woodland, and Aldrich Potgieter all missed the cut.

Si Woo Kim is red-hot right now. The South Korean golfer is coming off a runner-up finish at Torrey Pines and recorded a T21 finish at the 2025 WM Phoenix Open. He’s averaging 106.8 fantasy points per game in lineups through three events.
Kim ranks 10th in total strokes gained. He’s fourth SG: Approach and 28th SG: Off-the-Tee. Putting is the big weakness, but Kim’s tee-to-green accuracy, while also sitting fourth in proximity, justifies his elevated salary.
Let’s also target another veteran winner on the PGA Tour with Hideki Matsuyama. He’s logged T13 and T11 finishes during two starts in 2026, breaking 80 fantasy points at the Sony Open and Farmers Insurance Open.
Matsuyama has fared well at TPC Scottsdale. He won twice in 2016 and 2017 after a runner-up finish in 2015. The Japanese native has also collected three top 25 finishes, including a top 10, in his last four trips.
Don’t hesitate to pay up for either of these Tier 1 golfers in DFS lineups this week.

Chris Gotterup won the first PGA Tour event at the Sony Open a couple of weeks ago. He’s now won an event in three consecutive seasons and just logged a T18 finish at Torrey Pines on Sunday.
Gotterup is a bomber off-the-tee but he’s also equipped with plenty of other skills. The New Jersey native sits top-50 in SG: Putting, 39th SG: Approach, 30th in finding greens in regulation, and 45th in proximity.
Missed the cut in two prior appearances here at TPC Scottsdale. Expect a stronger outing from Gotterup, who has yet to show poor form on the links in 2026.
Pierceson Coody is quickly turning heads with his game. Coody has three T20 finishes to start 2026, including a runner-up finish at Torrey Pines with a -7-under-par score in Round 4.
Coody ranks 15th in total strokes gained. This includes 21st SG: Off-the-Tee, 19th driving distance, and 13th at hitting greens in regulation. 22nd on par 4s and 15th in birdie average with 5.25 per round, which means Coody could be the golfer we need to bury birdies at a decent salary.
Making his debut at TPC Scottsdale will be intriguing to monitor. Until we see otherwise, Coody’s well-rounded game is too good to avoid. Insert him into lineups as a solid floor prospect with massive upside.

| Nick Taylor |

$9,100 |
| Hao-Tong Li |
$7,500 |
$9,000 |
Nick Taylor has a winning pedigree at TPC Scottsdale. The 2024 WM Phoenix Open winner has T13-T27 finishes to start 2026.
The five-time PGA Tour winner ranks 2oth in driving accuracy and finding greens in regulation. 27th scrambling and 37th putting average translate to 13th in scoring average and 24th on par 4s.
Taylor’s gone 2-1-T25 in his last three outings at the WM Phoenix Open. He’s a horse for the course in Scottsdale, so let’s ride Taylor at a discounted salary in DFS lineups.
Hao-Tong Li has strung together T8-T11 finishes at The American Express and Farmers Insurance Open. The 30-year-old Chinese golfer ranks 13th in SG: Off-the-Tee, SG: Approach, and total strokes gained.
Li is 30th in driving accuracy, 32nd in proximity, and 18th in greens in regulation. Putting has been a glaring issue, yet his accuracy tee-to-green, combined with tight proximity, gives him a chance to be productive at TPC Scottsdale this week.
He’s averaging 88.1 fantasy points per game in three events. Li is still cheap to acquire in lineups. Lone finish at the WM Phoenix Open resulted in a missed cut at -4-under-par in 2025.
We’re going to back Li’s current form and plug him into lineups to flex his tee-to-green accuracy in hopes of another Top 20 finish this weekend.
