As mentioned above, the featured contests for the PLAYERS Championship are the $2.5M Fantasy Golf Mega Millionaire and the $2.25M Fantasy Golf Millionaire. Both of the featured contests are salary cap based, where you make an effort to build a dream but competitive lineup while staying under the cap.
Strategy
There is no such thing as a guaranteed strategy in DFS, but one of the things not to forget in fantasy golf is to adjust for the course. Rarely is it as simple as looking at the odds and squeezing the best possible players into your lineup while staying under the cap. Yes, Scottie Scheffler (the current favorite) will be a chalk play, but with Rory McIlroy still receiving treatment for back spasms, that is to be expected. Other players I will be trying to fit in my lineups if Rory is sidelined as expected are Colin Morikawa ($9,700), Jordan Spieth ($7,700), and Aaron Rai ($7,200). Si Woo Kim ($9,200) will be one of the featured players in my non Scottie lineup.
Scottie Scheffler ($14,200)
Scottie is the odds on favorite with Rory McIlroy’s status still in doubt. With that said, he will be chalky and is not as dominant as we have been used to. Scheffler, still, however, is one of the sport’s best and has shown the ability to dominate Pete Dye layouts.
Colin Morikawa ($9,700)
Morikawa projects as a strong play due to recent finishes at Pebble Beach and Bay Hill. He is one of the leaders in SG: Approach, which is one of the top correlative metrics for this course. He posted a top 10 finish in 2025 and has a win and two top-10 finishes in his last three starts on the season.
Si Woo Kim ($9,200)
Kim has had success at this course as well as other Pete Dye courses. His SG: Approach metrics have been elite lately. Kim has three top-10 finishes on the season and has the ball-striking skill to continue to thrive at TPC Sawgrass.
Jordan Spieth ($7,700)
As his salary indicates, Spieth is more of a value play you need to field a stud like Scottie and still enter a competitive lineup. His history is not the greatest at this event in particular, but he has the short game to thrive if he finds the ‘zone. He finished in the top four in the past (2014). Spieth has finished in the top-25 in three of his last five starts.
Aaron Rai ($7,200)
Greens in regulation percentage (73%) and his advanced ball striking metrics are the two reasons Rai stands out as an option for the PLAYERS Championship. Furthermore, TPC Sawgrass is Rai’s home course, which he practices at year-round. He would still be someone to play with a slightly higher salary, so Rai will be making most of my lineups as the type of high-floor value play necessary to fit studs like Scheffler into my lineup.
