We will be running a fantasy baseball mock draft using FantasyPros’ Draft Wizard tool.
We are officially in March, with the season now just about two weeks away. We’ll draft for a 12-team, points league with the following positions: 1-C, 1-1B, 1-2B, 1-3B, 1-SS, 3-OF, 1-UTIL, 6-Pitchers and three bench spots. I’m drafting from the eighth slot.

2026 Fantasy Baseball Mock Draft
1.08: Tarik Skubal (SP – DET)
I focus on starting pitchers in points leagues more than I do in category or roto leagues. That made Tarik Skubal the no-brainer selection here.
2.05: Junior Caminero (3B – TB)
3.08: Yordan Alvarez (OF – HOU)
Hitter-wise in points leagues, I’m targeting power hitters more often than usual, and that’s exactly what I get here with Junior Caminero and Yordan Alvarez.
4.05: Jacob deGrom (SP – TEX)
5.08: Mookie Betts (SS – LAD)
6.05: George Kirby (SP – SEA)
7.08: Corey Seager (SS – TEX)
I wound up drafting two starting pitchers and two shortstops in this span of four picks.
I didn’t plan on drafting two shortstops in the span of three picks, but I’m always going to go best player available, and I couldn’t pass on the value of Mookie Betts and Corey Seager where I landed them.
Meanwhile, I continue to want to attack starting pitchers early more often than usual, with Jacob deGrom and George Kirby. That gave me three top starters in the first six rounds.
8.05: Jose Altuve (2B – HOU)
This was probably one of my more boring selections, but Jose Altuve will continue to be as steady as he has been his whole career.
9.08: Tyler Glasnow (SP – LAD)
10.05: Chase Burns (SP – CIN)
I continue to attack high upside starting pitchers with high strikeout upside in Tyler Glasnow and Chase Burns.
11.08: Brandon Nimmo (OF – TEX)
I grabbed my second starting outfielder with the new in Brandon Nimmo. He slashed .262/.324/.436 with 25 home runs, 92 RBI and 81 runs last season with the Mets.
12.05: Sandy Alcantara (SP – MIA)
13.08: Yandy Diaz (1B – TB)
I was eyeing Yandy Diaz for the previous 2-3 rounds. He won’t fall this far in most drafts, but I couldn’t pass on his value this late after waiting on my first baseman.
14.05: Bryan Reynolds (OF – PIT)
I rounded out my starting outfield with Bryan Reynolds. He showed signs of a decline last season, where he slashed .245/.318/.402 at the plate. While he isn’t the hitter he once was, that’s entirely baked into his average draft position (ADP). He can still be a serviceable outfielder when waiting this late.
15.08: Matt McLain (2B – CIN)
16.05: Andrew Abbott (SP – CIN)
17.08: Shane McClanahan (SP – TB)
18.05: Samuel Basallo (C – BAL)
As I do in every mock, I punted the catcher position. I still anded Samuel Basallo. He is expected to both catch and serve as the designated hitter to get him in the lineup as often as possible for Baltimore.
Draft Wizard Insights
I received an A grade (95/100) from the Draft Wizard tool. This was by far the favorite mock draft I have done so far, and the FantasyPros Draft Wizard agreed.
I liked the combination of high upside starting pitchers I was able to land with power hitters who hold high home run upside heading into this season.
The one caveat is I didn’t draft any closers, which I’m fine with doing in points leagues. I’ll keep an eye on the waiver wire throughout the season to try and land 1-2 closers as certain bullpens change and adjust early in the season.
