This will be our final fantasy hockey waiver wire piece of the 2025-26 campaign. It has been a fun ride, and I wish you luck if you’re still in the mix for a championship in your league. Here are my top four fantasy hockey waiver wire pickups for Week 24.
NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Advice (Week 24)
(Rosterships courtesy of ESPN)
Patrick Kane (F – DET) | 43% Rostered
Patrick Kane has been featured extensively in this weekly article, so it’s only fitting we give the United States’ all-time scoring leader (1,393 points) another shoutout to end the season.
Kane is single-handedly trying to will the Red Wings into the playoffs. While that’s not working out too well, Kane has been filling up the shat sheet recently. He has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in his last six games. Going back even further, he is averaging 1.3 points and 3.1 shots on goal (SOG) per game in his last 15 contests.
Alexander Wennberg (F – SJ) | 33% Rostered
The Sharks and the Kraken are the only teams with seven games remaining. With the sheer volume of ice time and scoring chances that you’ll accumulate with players like Alexander Wennberg or Tyler Toffoli (58.4% rostered), it makes them viable options down the stretch.
Of course, budding stars like Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith get a lot of the shine in San Jose’s media coverage, but Wennberg has sneakily put together a decent season with 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists) in 74 games. He has really poured on the scoring recently, racking up eight points (five goals, three assists) in his last six outings. Add in the power-play opportunities, and Wennberg could be a decent addition to close out the season.
Egor Chinakov (F – PIT) | 17.1% Rostered
Egor Chinakov continues to dazzle since coming over to Pittsburgh in January. The 25-year-old Russian has been electric, collecting 33 points (17 goals, 16 assists), 96 SOG, 21 blocks and 21 hits in 40 games in a Penguins uniform.
Chinakov is on Sidney Crosby‘s left wing, as well as getting second-unit power-play time. The Penguins have four games remaining this season, including three games this week.
Devon Toews (D – COL) | 47.8% Rostered
Colorado’s Devon Toews is still available in more than half of ESPN’s fantasy hockey leagues, and that seems very low. With Cale Makar (upper-body) sidelined for the time being, we should see Toews’ offensive role expand down the stretch.
In two games since Makar’s departure, Toews already has three assists. That’s 13.6% of his 22 points (two goals, 20 assists) this season. He’s slotting in on the top power-play unit and picking up nearly 2:30 more time on ice per game (TOI/G). Lock down Toews if you still can, or look at Sam Malinski (22% rostered), if Toews is unavailable.
