Welcome to our weekly fantasy baseball risers and fallers column. In this article, I’ll provide three risers and three fallers based on what has transpired in the previous week.
Given that we’re over a month into the season, there are more options to choose from. We now know how managers are deploying their players, with some surprisingly receiving less playing time than initially expected. We also have a few young hitters who are making their presence felt immediately.
Without further ado, let’s find out who this week’s biggest risers and fallers are.

Fantasy Baseball Risers & Fallers
Fantasy Baseball Risers
Casey Schmitt (1B, 2B, 3B – SFG)
Casey Schmitt has been one of the biggest surprises of the 2026 MLB season, currently slashing .293/.337/.529 with nine home runs in 169 plate appearances.
Schmitt has increased his barrel rate from 9% to 13.7%. He looks like a legitimately brand-new hitter.
Miguel Andujar (3B, OF – SDP)
Miguel Andujar has been a nice find for the Padres, slashing .290/.315/.507 with five home runs in 143 plate appearances. So far in May, he has a .535 slugging rate.
While this could be a hot streak, the Padres have done a great job of getting value from cheap veteran additions. Ride the wave here.
Otto Lopez (2B, SS – MIA)
Otto Lopez is another hitter who looks totally different, currently slashing .349/.380/.497 with four home runs and eight stolen bases in 208 plate appearances.
Lopez has increased his hard-hit rate from 38.3% to 45.1% this year.
Fantasy Baseball Fallers
Xander Bogaerts (2B, SS – SDP)
Xander Bogaerts has hit a wall for the Padres, slashing .160/.192/.160 in the last seven days. I wouldn’t fault you for moving on for a hotter hitter in shallower leagues.
At this stage of his career, Bogaerts isn’t exciting enough in fantasy.
Ramon Laureano (OF – SDP)
Ramon Laureano has gone ice cold at the plate, putting up a .227/.261/.273 slash in his last seven games. He is another hitter who is not good enough to be rostered through a prolonged slump.
Move on and pick up a hot hitter from the waiver wire.
Adolis Garcia (OF – PHI)
Adolis Garcia has been abysmal for the Phillies, slashing .207/.284/.322 on the season. He’s not showing any signs of coming out of this slump, as he has a 28.9% strikeout rate on the year.
The power and speed upside was nice, but Garcia is hard to hold right now.
