Dynasty Rookie Draft Rankings: Player Spotlight
Ted Hurst III looks like a classic Day 2 dynasty bet: Tampa Bay spent a third-round pick (No. 84) on a 6’4″ perimeter WR from Georgia State, giving him enough draft capital to matter but not enough to guarantee targets. Most views peg him as WR4 early, with a real path to winning snaps opposite Emeka Egbuka if he beats out Jalen McMillan. The ceiling outcome is a future outside starter and spike-week producer; rookie-year expectations are more flex-by-need than weekly lock, with stash appeal in most builds.
Washington spending only a sixth-round pick (No. 187) on Kaytron Allen keeps his dynasty price in “cheap bet” territory, but the landing spot does real work. The Commanders’ RB room is crowded yet beatable, giving Allen a path to early-down and goal-line carries if he wins the trust battle. Most evaluators see a capped ceiling-limited burst and modest passing-game upside-so he profiles more as a committee hammer than a long-term PPR difference-maker. Expect a volatile rookie year: possible spot-starts, TD-dependent weeks, and bigger value in deeper formats.
Kansas City taking Emmett Johnson at No. 161 in Round 5 caps the dynasty enthusiasm: the film says “electricity in a bottle,” but the draft capital says backup. He’s projected to open as Kenneth Walker’s RB2/handcuff in an Andy Reid offense, with some PPR juice if he earns passing-down work. The ceiling is a spot-starter who can spike into RB2 weeks if Walker misses time, not a locked-in long-term bell cow. As a rookie, expect limited standalone volume and most of his value tied to injuries ahead of him.
