5 Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Stash Now (Week 10)

If you’re looking for the next wave of fantasy baseball impact prospects, now is the time to act. Several high-profile minor leaguers are knocking on the door of the majors, and in some cases, there may be very little left for them to prove.

5 Fantasy Baseball Prospects to Stash Before Their MLB Call-Up

These aren’t long-term dynasty stashes. These are players who appear close to contributing at the big league level and could provide fantasy value sooner rather than later.

                James Tibbs III (LAD)

James Tibbs III continues to make a strong case for a promotion. After a brief cooling-off period earlier in the season, he has pushed his batting average back above .320 while reaching 17 home runs and maintaining an OBP north of .400. According to the discussion, he’s among the Triple-A home run leaders and has been one of the most productive hitters in the Pacific Coast League.

The Dodgers passed him over when Teoscar Hernandez landed on the injured list, opting to promote Ryan Ward instead. Still, the feeling from the podcast was that Tibbs has little left to prove in Triple-A and should be in line for an opportunity soon.

One interesting theory discussed was that Los Angeles could be maximizing Tibbs’ trade value by allowing him to continue dominating Triple-A pitching rather than risking struggles in the majors before the trade deadline. Whether he’s part of the Dodgers’ plans or becomes a trade chip, fantasy managers should be paying attention.

                Joshua Baez (STL)

Joshua Baez may not have the prettiest batting average, but the power production has been impossible to ignore.

The podcast highlighted a massive May in which Baez hit 10 home runs while posting a .274 average. Since late May, he has been on an even hotter stretch, launching five homers in six games. His barrel rates and hard-hit metrics were described as premium, reinforcing the idea that his power is very real.

The biggest obstacle remains his strikeout rate. The Cardinals appear to want more consistency before giving him a major league opportunity. Still, with his recent surge and game-changing power, Baez could force the issue if an opening emerges in St. Louis.

For fantasy purposes, Baez profiles as a power-first stash with upside if the contact rate continues trending in the right direction.

                Cole Carrigg (COL)

Few prospects on this list have a fantasy profile as intriguing as Cole Carrigg.

Carrigg has done a little bit of everything at Triple-A. He’s hitting nearly .350, leading Triple-A in stolen bases with 29, and supplementing that speed with extra-base power, including doubles, triples, and home runs. Perhaps most encouraging is the fact that he’s accomplishing all of this without significant strikeout concerns.

Versatility only strengthens his case. Carrigg has experience behind the plate, in the middle infield, and in the outfield, giving Colorado multiple avenues to get his bat into the lineup.

The Rockies’ roster situation creates some uncertainty, but the podcast’s overall message was clear: Carrigg is producing at a level where a call-up feels justified. If and when that opportunity arrives, his speed alone could make him an immediate fantasy target.

                Kaelen Culpepper (MIN)

Among all the names discussed, Kaelen Culpepper may be the prospect receiving the loudest calls for a promotion.

After some ups and downs earlier in the season, Culpepper rebounded with an impressive May, hitting .280 with seven home runs, seven stolen bases, and an outstanding walk-to-strikeout profile. He also posted an OBP above .400 during that stretch.

The appeal for fantasy managers is obvious. Culpepper already owns a 12-homer, 12-steal season line while contributing across multiple categories. The podcast specifically pointed to his well-rounded skill set as one of the reasons he could make an immediate fantasy impact.

With Minnesota currently receiving limited production at shortstop, the discussion suggested there may not be much standing between Culpepper and the majors. Managers in 12-team leagues and deeper formats should already have him on their radar.

                Mitch Bratt (AZ)

The lone pitcher on this list is Mitch Bratt, and his case stands out because of where he’s succeeding.

The Welsh emphasized how difficult the Pacific Coast League can be for pitchers, which makes Bratt’s 2.68 ERA and 0.97 WHIP particularly impressive. He’s allowed just three home runs in 40 innings while pitching in an environment that typically favors hitters.

Arizona’s rotation currently appears relatively stable, but the podcast noted that Bratt could be first in line whenever an opportunity arises. More importantly for fantasy managers, there was optimism that he could contribute immediately rather than being used in a relief role.

He’s probably more of a deeper-league stash or streamer candidate initially, but the performance has been difficult to ignore.
