Closer News & Notes
- Bryan Baker maintains his MLB lead with 39 saves. His last save came on August 29th.
- There are nine closers with at least 30 saves this season.
- Andres Munoz has thrown 4.2 straight scoreless innings since his last blown save. He was said to be unavailable on Friday after another blown save for the team.
- Mason Montgomery has continued to dominate since taking over the Pirates’ closer role with 19.1 straight scoreless innings.
- Kodai Senga has taken over the closer role in the Mets’ bullpen with three saves over the past week and a half.
- The Orioles’ bullpen remains a committee for saves, but Rico Garcia is emerging with saves on Wednesday and Friday.
