Add https://api.fantasypros.com/mcp to your assistant, sign in with your FantasyPros account, and start asking questions. The URL and sign-in are the same everywhere; all that changes is where you enter them.

Open Settings › Plugins › Developer Mode and turn on Developer Mode.
Go to Plugins and click New (+) to add a custom plugin.
Name the tool "FantasyPros", enter the Connection URL https://api.fantasypros.com/mcp, and choose OAuth for authentication.
Complete the sign-in with your FantasyPros account.
In a new chat, open the tools (+) menu and select FantasyPros.

Open Settings › Connectors.
Click Add › Add custom connector.
Name it "FantasyPros" and enter the server URL https://api.fantasypros.com/mcp
Click Continue and then Add.
Click Connect and sign in with your FantasyPros account when the browser window opens.

In your terminal, run claude mcp add --transport http fantasypros https://api.fantasypros.com/mcp Add --scope user if you want the server available in every project, not just the current one.
Start Claude Code, type /mcp, select "FantasyPros", and complete the sign-in in your browser.

In your terminal, run codex mcp add fantasypros --url https://api.fantasypros.com/mcp
Then sign in to your FantasyPros account by running codex mcp login fantasypros

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants securely connect to outside services. The FantasyPros MCP Server uses it to give your assistant a set of FantasyPros tools it can call on your behalf. Some third-party assistants may require a paid plan to add custom MCP servers.

Which AI assistants work with it?

Any assistant that supports MCP, including Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop), ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude Code, Gemini CLI and Codex CLI. The server URL and sign-in are the same everywhere; only where you enter them changes. Setup steps for the most popular assistants are above.

Do I need an API key?

No. Add https://api.fantasypros.com/mcp and sign in with your FantasyPros account when the browser window opens (OAuth). If your assistant asks for a Client ID and secret, leave them blank.

Which tools are free?

Many of them. Rankings, projections, research and questions about your synced leagues work on a free FantasyPros account. Advice tools like the Start/Sit Assistant, Trade Analyzer and Waiver Assistant require a premium subscription; the plans page shows what each plan includes.

Do I need to sync my leagues?

Only for questions about your own teams: rosters, start/sit, waivers, trades, playoff odds and matchups. Sync your leagues at fantasypros.com/myleagues/league-sync, then ask again. Rankings and research questions work without a league.

What sports are supported?

NFL and MLB. Your assistant switches sports based on what you ask; four tools are baseball-specific (lineups, streaming pitchers, MLB ownership and the MLB Waiver Finder).

The FantasyPros tools don't show up in my assistant.

Make sure the connector is enabled in your assistant's settings, then restart the app or start a new chat. Some assistants only load servers at the start of a conversation. Signed in with the wrong FantasyPros account? Remove the connector, add it again and sign in with the right one. Still stuck? Submit a request.
