Notes
For all the hype bestowed upon Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Jimenez is oddly getting a bit lost in the shuffle. He has nothing left to prove in the minors after hitting .355/.399/.597 with 12 homers in 55 Triple-A games, so the White Sox can't justify keeping him down too much longer. He should now start the season in Chicago after signing a six-year extension that eliminates any need to manipulate his service time. Jimenez could brandish top-shelf power from the start. Steamer agrees, projecting .293/.341/.502 with 25 homers in 130 games. Often available beyond the top-100 picks before the signing, the hype hadn't gotten out of hand yet. Barring a substantial uptick, he's especially an intriguing upside pick in shallower mixed leagues with three starting outfielders.
Andrew Gould - FantasyPros
Robles has been somewhat overshadowed by Juan Soto in Washington, but he had success in a brief stint with the Nationals last year and looks poised to break out in 2019. The projection systems generally expect Robles to steal at least 25 bases with low-double digit home runs and a batting average in the .275 range, which would probably be enough to make Robles worth deploying immediately, even in three outfielder leagues.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
Jimenez isn't expected to be on the White Sox Opening Day roster, but he has all the makings of another Juan Soto once he does get the call. Jimenez has hit well over .300 at every minor league stop and projects to provide 25-30 HR power from the get-go. He is all reward and no risk in the double digit rounds of fantasy drafts, particularly in leagues with deep benches.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
Everyone expected Washington's hot-shot outfielder prospect to break out in 2018. Only it was Juan Soto instead of Victor Robles, who suffered an elbow injury in spring training. The higher-rated of the two rising stars last year, Robles is poised to replace Bryce Harper in the Nationals' starting lineup. If given the chance, he has shown the ability to hit for contact with solid power and intriguing speed. Lorenzo Cain's name is frequently mentioned as a comparison, and the rookie's Steamer projections (.274/.335/.417, 12 HRs, 27 SBs) aren't all that far off from the Milwaukee outfielder. Robles' ADP could quickly rise in light of Harper signing with the Phillies.
Andrew Gould - FantasyPros
Jimenez may not be Vlad Jr. but most other years, he would be the consensus top fantasy prospect. His game is in the mold of Manny Ramirez where he could be a mainstay in the middle of a lineup, hitting 30 homers with 100 RBIs and a .290 BA every year. That might not all come right away, but from the moment he is called up, you can expect a top 30 fantasy outfielder.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
If Alex Reyes doesn't make the Cardinals' rotation, Robles is far and away the favorite to win NL Rookie of the Year. Robles is a true five-tool talent that is polished enough to be a top 45 fantasy outfielder right away. The power may come a little later, but he will steal more than enough bases to warrant a mid-round pick.
