Fantasy Impact: Swanson has been on the 15-day IL since the start of the season with carpal tunnel syndrome in his right forearm. The team will see how he's feeling following the outing before deciding the next steps in his rehab.

Fantasy Impact: Burr has been sidelined since the start of the season with right shoulder inflammation. He's scheduled to throw off a mound Saturday, and if all goes well, he could soon progress to facing live hitters. While it's a positive step, he remains a ways off from rejoining the Toronto Blue Jays.

Fantasy Impact: Ort opened the season on the 15-day IL with a left oblique strain but is trending toward a return. He's expected to pitch Friday night, and if all goes well, he could be activated as soon as this weekend or early next week. In 5.1 innings with Triple-A Sugar Land, he's posted a 3.38 ERA and 1.87 WHIP with four strikeouts.

Fantasy Impact: Dubin has been working his way back from right shoulder inflammation that placed him on the 15-day IL. He completed a bullpen session Wednesday and came out of it feeling good, putting him in a position to be available to pitch on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact: Leiter has been sidelined since April 4 with a blister on his right middle finger. He impressed in his brief time before the injury, allowing just one earned run and striking out 10 across two starts. He'll look to pick up where he left off in his return to the rotation.


Gregory Santos will undergo surgery on his right knee on Tuesday to clean up loose cartilage.

Fantasy Impact: It may help explain some of the struggles Santos had to start the season. It is unclear how long he will be sidelined for.

Fantasy Impact: Robles underwent further testing that showed his shoulder is continuing to heal. He will still be sidelined through the All-Star break.

Fantasy Impact: Barring any setbacks, Kirby could be cleared to face live hitters by next week.

Fantasy Impact: Ragans is expected to avoid a stint on the injured list. He is likely to continue to be evaluated over the weekend.


Brendan Donovan is back in the Cardinals lineup on Friday against the Brewers.

Fantasy Impact: Donovan missed the past couple of games due to rib soreness. He is back batting third and starting at second base.

Fantasy Impact: Basallo has not played since April 4 due to a left hamstring strain. He is still only serving as the designated hitter. He has not caught due to right elbow inflammation.

Fantasy Impact: Scherzer continues to slowly work his way back. He does not have a clear timetable to resume throwing on the mound.

Fantasy Impact: Brito suffered the injury after sliding into third base. He could return to the Triple-A lineup later in the summer.

Fantasy Impact: Suarez continues to build up his pitch count after throwing 59 pitches for Lehigh Valley on Tuesday. He is slated for at least one more rehab start as well after Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Perez is scheduled to pitch one inning for Jupiter on Saturday. It will likely be the first of many rehab starts/appearances as he slowly builds up his pitch count.

Fantasy Impact: McNeil has been sidelined since spring training with a strained right oblique. He is ready to make his season debut after a handful of rehab games. Brett Baty was optioned as the corresponding move.

Fantasy Impact: Alvarez missed the past month with a hamate bone fracture. He should return to his every day role at catcher for the Mets.

Fantasy Impact: Lopez will make his first home start of the season on Friday against the Angels. It is not clear yet if he'll be on a pitch count in his first start off the injured list.


The Pittsburgh Pirates have transferred Tim Mayza from the 15-day IL to the 60-day IL. (Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

Fantasy Impact: Mayza's move to the 60-day IL was expected after Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday the left-hander would be shut down from throwing for at least six weeks. His IL placement opened a roster spot for Matt Gorski, who briefly joined the Pirates before swapping places with Jack Suwinski.

Fantasy Impact: Lawrence's move to the IL comes as a bit of a surprise. He threw two-thirds of an inning on Tuesday, walking two, but showed no visible signs of discomfort. Manager Derek Shelton said the right-hander "just didn't feel right." In a corresponding move, Mike Burrows was promoted to the active roster.
