Matt Harvey suspended by Mets, won't start Sunday

Matt Harvey has been suspended for three days without pay by the New York Mets for violation of club rules. He has been sent home and will not start on Sunday. Left-hander Adam Wilk will take the mound in his place. (Jim Bowden on Twitter)

This is stunning news, but the team is apparently keeping things close to the vest for now. The Mets are unwilling to reveal the reason for Harvey’s brief and sudden suspension. Manager Terry Collins saying, “We’ll keep it in-house, the way it’s supposed to be.” Harvey is out Sunday but appears on track, at least for now, to take the ball for his next turn in the rotation.
