While nothing has been made official, it looks like the Padres are moving Hand into the ninth inning in place of the struggling Brandon Maurer. It will at least be worth monitoring moving forward, and Hand is worth a stash for those interested in speculating on saves. He has been solid this year and can help ratios and strikeouts even outside of the closer role.
