It's been a rough start to the season for Samardzija. Unlike last year, his peripherals do not indicate that positive regression is coming. He's coming off an injury that delayed the start of his season, so that could explain it, but he has apparently lost the pinpoint control that he displayed last year while he continues to give up the long ball.
