Santana was just promoted to Double-A on May 16, and it is possible that this promotion is related to Kenta Maeda's hip injury from Tuesday night. While nothing is official regarding Maeda yet, the early morning call-up of Santana, who was scheduled to start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday would seem to indicate that this move is related. Through 10 starts in the upper minors this season, Santana has a 2.54 ERA with 65 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings.
