The 22-year-old southpaw entered 2018 as Baseball America's 41st ranked prospect. He pitched well between AA and AAA this year, posting a 2.48 ERA in 116 innings to go along with 123 strikeouts. The Mariners are also receiving two other players in return for Paxton. It's a sign the team is prepared to go into a full rebuild.
