Chris Davis receives Adderall exemption for 2015

Chris Davis (1B - FA)

According to Roch Kubatko, Buck Showalter confirmed in a recent interview with 105.7 The Fan that Chris Davis got approved "for what he got suspended for": Adderall. Davis received a 50 game suspension for using Adderall in 2014 and will be allowed to use it in 2015. (Roch Kubatko on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact
This comes as good news as the Orioles desperately need Davis to replace Nelson Cruz's bat in the lineup. Davis struggled through a disappointing 2014 season after leading the league in home runs in 2013. While it's impossible to say what effect the medication will have on his numbers, fantasy owners should expect a bounce back season from the power hitting first baseman. Last year, Davis' biggest issue was contact, evidenced by a .196 batting average. This low average was mainly the result of bad luck; in 2014, Davis posted a .242 BABIP, well below his career average of .320.
