Jordan Lyles allowed two runs (one earned) in four innings Thursday in the Pirates' 5-4 spring victory over the Orioles. He allowed three hits, one walk, and had three strikeouts.
Fantasy Impact
Lyles is competing with Nick Kingham for the Pirates' fifth rotation spot, and if he gets the job Lyles might be an interesting NL-only sleeper. His 3.88 SIERA and 3.0 K/BB ratio were both career bests, and Lyles posted a career-high 10.3% SwStr rate thanks to increased curveball usage. He isn't mixed league material at this point, but he might be worth a late round grab in NL-only leagues.
