The deal is believed to be in the two-year, $66 million range. Verlander is a free agent after this year, so this extension would likely keep him in Houston for three more seasons (including this one). The 36-year-old was dominant in 2018, striking out 290 batters over 214 innings while posting a 2.52 ERA. He's one of the best starting pitcher options in fantasy baseball this year.
