Encarnacion was scratched due to soreness in his left hand. There's no word yet on how Encarnacion suffered the injury, but it's not to believed to be serious or cost him more playing time. The Mariners have an off day Wednesday before opening a three-game weekend series at the White Sox Thursday afternoon. Encarnacion is hitting .238 with one home run on the young season.
