Michael Wacha (5-4) allowed only two runs over seven innings Friday against the Padres, but was saddled with the loss. He allowed six hits and a walk while striking out two.

Wacha was cruising until the sixth inning, when he allowed back-to-back solo shots to Fernando Tatis Jr. and Eric Hosmer. Wacha is frustratingly inconsistent, but is good for a solid outing every now and then. He'll take his 5.30 ERA and 1.60 WHIP into his next start, on the road against the Mariners on Thursday.
