It was no secret that the Nationals were seeking bullpen help, and Hudson may not be the only reliever they acquire before today's deadline. Hudson has a 3.00 ERA and 48 strikeouts over 48 innings. He will not be supplanting Sean Doolittle from the closer role, but he should step into late-inning duty fairly quickly.
