The Mariners were hopeful Murphy could recover with rest and rehab but that hasn't been the case so far. Per Seattle Times beat writer, Ryan Divish, Joe Hudson is likely the next man up if Murphy were to miss time with an IL stint. Murphy was a bright spot for the M's last year when he mashed 18 homers and knocked in 40 runs over 240 AB's.
