Fulmer was released by the Chicago White Sox before the start of the season and was quickly claimed by division-rival Detroit. He was the White Sox first round pick (No. 8 overall) back in 2015 but was never able to latch on with the club. Fulmer has a 6.56 ERA, 1.637 WHIP, and 6.1 BB/9 across 94.2 innings at the big league level. Those numbers obviously aren't great but the first round pedigree warrants the rebuilding Tigers taking a flyer on him.
