Brandon Woodruff whiffs nine on Thursday, takes the loss

Brandon Woodruff (SP - MIL)

Brandon Woodruff was handed the loss on Thursday when he allowed three runs on five hits while striking out nine over 4 2/3 innings in the Brewers Game 2 loss to the Dodgers.

Fantasy Impact
Woodruff was locked in a pitcher's duel with Clayton Kershaw through the first four innings of the contest. Kershaw would go on to pitch eight shutout innings while Woodruff ran into trouble in the fifth when he have up an RBI single to Austin Barnes and two-run double to Mookie Betts. The 27-year old still managed to strikeout nine in the ball game, though. Woodruff should be a popular pick in fantasy drafts next spring following his stellar 2020 season.
