There continues to be smoke surrounding Sanchez's tenure in New York. Back in October GM Brian Cashman was noncommittal to naming Sanchez his starting catcher for 2021. Additionally, Jon Heyman of MLB Network has reported that the Yankees have expressed interest in free agent Yadier Molina. Sanchez hit just .147 with a .618 OPS during the shortened 2020 campaign.
