Dustin May named Dodgers' fifth starter

Dustin May (SP - LAD)

Dustin May has been named the Dodgers' fifth starter to open the season. (J.P. Hoornstra)

Fantasy Impact
It's a pretty big surprise given the presence of David Price and Tony Gonsolin, but May will get the nod in the rotation, at least to begin the year. He threw just 56 innings last season, so expecting him to top 150 innings this year would not be prudent, especially with the Dodgers' depth in the rotation and history of managing their pitchers' innings. Still, May should be a serviceable contributor as a back-end-of-the-rotation starter, particularly if he can show more of the strikeout upside that he showed in the minors.
