It was all but assured that Paxton needed Tommy John surgery, and now it's official. Given the normal timetable of the recovery, it seems unlikely that Paxton will be ready for Opening Day in 2022, but he should return by mid-season if he avoids setbacks. As it is, there's little reason for optimism as to his dynasty stock given his injury history, and fantasy managers shouldn't count on much from him going forward.
