St. Louis Cardinals 3B, Matt Carpenter, has been named the National League Player of the Week for the week of April 13th - April 19th. He finished the week 12-for-25 while leading the league in total bases with 22 and doubles with 7. He concluded the week by helping the Cardinals finish off the sweep of their intradivisional rivals, the Cincinnati Reds, by launching a solo home run to leadoff the game on Sunday afternoon in Busch Stadium.
