LHP Madison Bumgarner took a no-decision on Thursday when he allowed one run on two hits with seven strikeouts over six innings in the D-Backs 3-1 loss to the Marlins.

Mad Bum once again looked good on Thursday, holding down the Miami offense over his six innings of work. Miguel Rojas cranked a solo hole run off of him in the first inning but the veteran lefty virtually shut the Marlins down after that. Bumgarner has shown some extra zip on his pitches recently and looks like a completely different pitcher than the one who got off to a disastrous start to begin the year. He’s allowed just three earned runs over his last four starts and has lowered his season ERA to 4.91 with a 1.09 WHIP over 36 2/3 innings. He draws these same Marlins in a rematch at home in his next start.
