Clayton Kershaw takes tough luck loss on Wednesday

Clayton Kershaw (SP - LAD)

LHP Clayton Kershaw took his sixth loss of the year on Wednesday when he allowed two runs on eight hits with one walk and nine strikeouts in a 2-0 loss to the Phillies.

Fantasy Impact
Kershaw certainly pitched well enough to secure a win but the Los Angeles hitters just couldn't get to Zack Wheeler. The southpaw served up a solo homer to Rhys Hoskins in the top of the first inning and an RBI double to J.T. Realmuto in the top of third, which account for both runs of the ball game. He took the loss but there was nothing to be ashamed of in this one. The former Cy Young winner punched out nine batters for the third game in a row and now owns a 3.86 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 104:15 K/BB ratio over 88 1/3 innings (15 starts). He'll get the Padres on the road in his next start.
