Fantasy Impact
Syndergaard has been recovering from Tommy John surgery and was progressing well until May when he experienced a setback with his elbow. He's been ramping up lately by playing catch and has now progressed to throwing off a mound for the first time in two months. He's on track to return sometime in late August and could be used out of the bullpen once he rejoins the team. He's still worth rostering in dynasty and keeper leagues but he's harder to stash in redraft leagues given his uncertain role once he returns.
