Yovani Gallardo allowed just five hits and no runs, but managed to go only five innings in the Rangers 3-2 extra inning loss to the Chicago White Sox today. Gallardo walked one and struck out three, but needed 98 pitches to get through his five innings of work as he frequently fell behind in the count.

Gallardo has been outstanding of late and despite today's short outing, it's hard to argue fantasy-wise with five innings of scoreless baseball. Gallardo left the game with a slim 1-0 lead, but the pale hose got to Ross Detwiler for a pair of runs to take the lead in the bottom of the sixth, thus denying Gallardo a chance for the victory.
