Jordan Groshans to see time at first base in spring training

by Brenton Kemp | Yankees Correspondent | Sun, Mar 5th 11:31am EST

Miami Marlins prospect Jordan Groshans will see time at first base this spring to enhance his chances at making the Opening Day roster. (Jordan McPherson at the Miami Herald)

Fantasy Impact:

Groshans has experience at all of the infield positions on his way up the minor leagues but not much experience at first base. The 23-year-old doesn't boast much power but hit .301 with a .398 OBP and 123 wRC+ across 31 games at the Double-A level in the Marlins organization last season. Without much speed in addition to the lack of power, Groshans doesn't offer much in terms of fantasy value even if he's able to crack the Marlins' roster out of camp.
