Familia has signed a majors deal with the A's immediately after being released from a minors deal with the D-backs. The 33-year-old veteran made 30 appearances for the A's in the 2018 season, posting a 3.45 ERA in that time. He scuffled to a 6.09 ERA in 48 appearances between the Red Sox and Phillies last season but turned in a 3.94 ERA or better in three of his previous four seasons.
