Joey Wentz turned in a serviceable performance on Wednesday, allowing only one earned run over 4.1 innings pitched, but was unable to secure the win as the Tigers edged out the Rangers 3-2.

Despite the solid outing, Wentz's season-long struggles continued, as his ERA remained at an unsightly 7.28 through 11 starts. While his 5 strikeouts were a positive sign, his 1.68 WHIP and 2.35 strikeout-to-walk ratio remain causes for concern moving forward.
