Tyler Owens could push for Tigers bullpen role

Tyler Owens has looked sharp early in spring training and could be in the mix for a bullpen role at some point this season, per Jason Beck of MLB.com. The 24-year-old right-hander, acquired from Texas in last summer’s Carson Kelly trade, brings a unique delivery and a fastball that reaches the upper 90s.
Fantasy Impact:
Owens excelled after joining the Tigers' system, posting a 2.80 ERA with 35 strikeouts over 35.1 innings at Double-A Erie. He is expected to start the season at Triple-A but is already on the 40-man roster, which could help accelerate his path to the majors. If he continues to impress in the minors, Owens could be a midseason call-up and a potential high-leverage arm in Detroit’s bullpen. Fantasy managers in deep leagues should keep an eye on his progress.
