Aaron Bummer expected to be primary left-handed setup man

Aaron Bummer is in line to be Atlanta’s top left-handed setup option in front of closer Raisel Iglesias following A.J. Minter’s offseason departure, David O’Brien of The Athletic reports.

Fantasy Impact:

Bummer’s first season with Atlanta in 2024 was a mixed bag, as he posted a 3.58 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 55.1 innings while managing just two holds in 56 appearances. Despite the underwhelming surface stats, his 2.22 FIP suggests he was the victim of bad luck, with an elite groundball rate and minimal hard contact. He’ll likely open the season in a high-leverage role, with Dylan Lee also in the mix against left-handed hitters, while Pierce Johnson is expected to handle key right-handed matchups.
