Joey Loperfido favored for Opening Day center
by Bruno Mulé | Blue Jays Correspondent | Mon, Mar 17th 11:21am EDT
Joey Loperfido has taken most center field reps this spring while Daulton Varsho (shoulder) sticks to DH, making Loperfido the likely Blue Jays Opening Day center fielder, per team updates. (Keegan Matheson)
Fantasy Impact:
Loperfido’s .160 spring clip (4-for-25, 3:7 BB:K) lacks punch, but three extra-base hits and a .256/.352/.498 Triple-A line with 18 homers last year keep Toronto high on him. The 25-year-old edges Varsho for Opening Day. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues can roster him for speed-power upside if he secures the gig.
