The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired Brett Sullivan from the San Diego Padres in exchange for Bryce Johnson and cash considerations. (Alex Stumpf on Twitter)

With Endy Rodríguez (finger) and Joey Bart (back) sidelined, the Pirates bolster their catching depth by adding Sullivan. Over 97 career major league at-bats, he's slashed .206/.243/.299. He's expected to report to Triple-A Indianapolis.
