Vasez was shipped to the minors to make room for left-hander Nestor Cortes, who was activated off the injured list on Sunday. Vasquez owns a 3.93 ERA in 22 outings, but allowed five earned runs in four innings on Saturday, while his 5.95 xFIP and 5.83 SIERA suggest more regression was on its way.
