The Pirates made a procedural move on Sunday, selecting the contract of right-hander Noah Murdock, meaning the club needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. It will cost Wendzel his spot for the time being. The 29-year-old has made just four plate appearances for the Bucs this season and is hitting .230 with 10 homers, 38 RBI, two stolen bases, and an .810 OPS across 65 games this season for Triple-A Indianapolis.
