Jerry Blevins sharp in relief for Mets

by Nick Ritrivi | Mon, Apr 4th 8:05am EDT

Jerry Blevins worked a clean 1-2-3 eighth inning against the Royals during the Mets' season opening loss on Sunday night. Blevins, who missed most of last season due to a fractured left forearm, will be a key component to the Mets' bullpen in 2016.

Fantasy Impact:

Blevins will handle seventh and/or eighth inning duties for the Mets in 2016. With Addison Reed the first option to vulture an occasional save from Jeurys Familia, Blevins doesn't hold much value in leagues that don't reward holds. That said, he has great stuff and could eventually supplant Reed as the set-up man.
