Max Scherzer threw six innings, giving up four runs while striking out six batters. All of the damage came in the first two innings, but he did settle down after the second not giving up any runs.

Scherzer has gotten off to a slow start in his first two appearances of the year. There is very little to be concerned about here as Scherzer remains the second best pitching option behind Kershaw. He will look to right the ship in his next start against Philadelphia.
