The Chicago Cubs refused to pitch Bryce Harper on Thursday night, walking the slugger three times before giving up a single (with a five-run lead and no one on base) to him in the ninth. Harper later scored on a Jayson Werth home run.

Much of the problem with Harper is that few players in baseball are going to get pitched to tougher than him. Smart managers are just not going to let Harper beat them, and as a result he's going to get walked many, many times this season.
